ZOGUSA Senator John McCain:
“President Trump last week signaled to the world that the United States would prematurely withdraw from Syria. Bashar Assad and his Russian and Iranian backers have heard him, and emboldened by American inaction, Assad has reportedly launched another chemical attack against innocent men, women and children, this time in Douma. The President responded decisively when Assad used chemical weapons last year. “He should do so again, and demonstrate that Assad will pay a price for his war crimes.”
ZOGUSA President Donald Trump:
“Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria. Area of atrocity is in lockdown and encircled by Syrian Army, making it completely inaccessible to outside world. President Putin, Russia and Iran are responsible for backing Animal Assad. Big price to pay. Open area immediately for medical help and verification. Another humanitarian disaster for no reason whatsoever. SICK!”
“If President Obama had crossed his stated Red Line In The Sand, the Syrian disaster would have ended long ago! Animal Assad would have been history!”
UK: “Ministers say Britain cannot keep turning a blind eye to such barbaric atrocities and must strike back”
Macron condemns Syria chemical attacks in call with Trump
Denunciation of Assad regime comes a day ahead of French-led emergency UN Security Council meeting on alleged war crimes
Association France Presse, April 9, 2018
PARIS, France (AFP) — French President Emmanuel Macron accused Damascus of “chemical attacks” against civilians in the Syrian rebel enclave of Douma in a call with US leader Donald Trump Sunday, as international outrage mounts against the alleged use of the weapons.
The statement from the Elysee Palace said Macron “strongly condemned the chemical attacks on April 7 against the population of Douma.”
It added that the two leaders shared information “confirming” the use of chemical weapons and would coordinate their efforts at a meeting of the UN Security Council in New York on Monday.

Trump has warned there would be a “big price to pay” after Saturday’s attack, as rebels began evacuating Douma, the last sliver they held of their one-time stronghold Eastern Ghouta, under a deal with Syria’s regime.
“Many dead, including women and children, in mindless CHEMICAL attack in Syria,” Trump wrote on Twitter, lashing out at Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and Russia’s Vladimir Putin, a key ally of the regime.
Damascus and its allies have denounced the accusations.
Syria’s[The Kike’s] White Helmets, who act [indeed, act] as first responders in rebel-held areas of Syria, said “poisonous chlorine gas” had been used late Saturday.
In a joint statement with the Syrian American Medical Society, the White Helmets said more than 500 cases were brought to medical centres “with symptoms indicative of exposure to a chemical agent.”
France, which has repeatedly said evidence of chemical use in Syria could prompt military action, responded by calling for an urgent UN Security Council meeting on Monday.
The request was also signed by eight other UN Security Council members including the US and Britain, while Russia asked for a separate Security Council meeting to discuss global threats to peace.

Bomb Assad! Israeli hawks urge US to strike Syria over Douma ‘chem attack’
RT, 8 Apr, 2018
The [“Israeli”] Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman slammed the international community, for what he called willful ignorance of the human tragedies in Syria and other countries, and unjust criticism of Israel’s actions. The minister said in particular that the world was “complacent” about the deaths of civilians in Syria.
Lieberman did not rule out Israel’s own intervention in the Syrian conflict.
He also criticized US President Donald Trump’s recent statements concerning the potential US troop withdrawal from Syria, by saying that “President Trump didn’t ask” him for an opinion on the matter.
The idea of Israel’s intervention in Syria was supported by the Israeli Chief Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef, who called developments in the Middle Eastern country a “genocide … in its cruelest form.” “We have a moral obligation not to keep quiet and to try and stop this massacre,” he said, as cited by the Times of Israel.
The Hill, April 9, 2018:
President Trump on Monday promised a swift response to an apparent chemical weapons attack in Syria, insisting that those responsible will “pay a price.”
“We’ll be making that decision very quickly, probably by the end of today,” Trump said during a Cabinet meeting, adding, “We cannot allow atrocities like that. Cannot allow it.”
The president condemned the “heinous attack,” which left at least 40 people dead, including children, and has been blamed on Syrian President Bashar Assad.
Trump suggested that Russian President Vladimir Putin shoulders some of the blame:
“He may. Yeah, he may. And if he does, it’s going to be very tough. Very tough. Everybody is going to pay a price. He will. Everybody will.”
John Bolton spent his first morning on the job as Trump’s national security adviser leading a meeting with senior officials to discuss possible responses.
